This position is part-time and works approximately 20 hours per week.

This position is in the Department of Music. This position is for the Danforth Campus in the School of Arts & Sciences.
Essential Functions
This part-time (30 standard hours/week during the academic year) role performs the primary financial and HR transaction duties for the Department in support of the Chair. The position also supports the Applied Music program functions, including unique/specialized payroll considerations and student billing.
1. Manage department budget, including annual entry of budget information and quarterly reporting of research, gifts, and concert accounts. Prepare and evaluate accounting transactions (journals, budget adjustments, deposits).
2. Coordinate and process purchase requests and reimbursements (purchase orders, receiving, check requests, travel advance/reports, inter-departmental orders, problem resolution, contact with vendors, some grant administration).
3. Prepare and organize academic and staff payroll and personnel data (sourcing, appointments, biweekly and monthly payroll, leave records, annual contract letters).
4. Applied Music Roster verification, payroll, and semester contracts.
5. Prepare and evaluate billing for Applied Music each semester.
6. Facilities management.
Required Qualifications
HS diploma plus 3 years of experience in accounting, payroll, payables and receivables. Additional education can substitute for experience. Experience with Excel and Word. Experience with payroll and budgeting on-line systems.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor plus 1 year of experience.
* Preferred experience in university accounting systems, specifically fund accounting/not for profit accounting.
* Excellent oral and written communications, excellent excel, word and database experience, ability to make decisions quickly after analyzing a financial request and its implications on the budget.
Salary Range
The hiring range for this position is $16.80 - $21.42 per hour.
